Are You Still Using A Conventional Air Freshener?
I don’t know about you guys, but the sweet smell of apple cinnamon, pumpkin spice, clean laundry or even a fresh Hawaiian breeze all sound like great options for how we’d like our homes to smell… right?! Nowadays you can find an air freshener for every scent you can dream of, but did you know that your sweet-smelling home may be damaging your health?!
If you use synthetic air fresheners in your car and/or living space, chances are they contain toxins like phthalates, aka the chemicals used to prolong the length of time that scented products maintain their fragrance. Did you know that regular exposure to phthalates can increase your risk of experiencing endocrine, reproductive, and developmental problems?
What’s even more shocking is that most conventional air freshener brands that test positive for phthalates usually don’t include phthalates on their lists of ingredients; and are instead using words like “all-natural” and “unscented.” A better alternative: an organic cotton air diffuser such as the one pictured above, from Cleaning Essentials. It’s an aromatherapy essential oil diffuser that’s made from organic cotton and durable glass and is an all-natural (actually), non-toxic DIY Air Freshener that can be used anywhere. Replace chemical air fresheners with non-toxic, all-natural, organic, no power needed. Diffuse anywhere without batteries or electricity.
To start diffusing, simply add a few drops of your favorite essential oil or blend directly to the cotton diffuser, then set it out and enjoy chemical-free air scents. The cotton will last for years and you can add 12 drops every few days for months of aromatherapy. Add more scent or a different fragrance when desired. Can be used in the car, bathroom, office etc.
